Some words about myself:
I'm an avid fan of Natur in all its colors and shapes, complexity and diversity One of planet earths most spectacular and fascinating naturally occurring phenomena, the Northern lights.
Norse mythology:
In Norway, my viking ancestors had another name for The northern lIghts, Bifröst.
Bifröst is a burning rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (the world) and Asgard, the realm of the gods.
The bridge ends in heaven at Himinbjörg, the residence of the god Heimdallr, who guards it from the jötnar.
In Roman mythology, it's called Aurora Borealis; It's named after the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for the north wind, Boreas.
Aurora, goddess of the dawn, renews herself every morning and flies across the sky, announcing the arrival of the sun.
Boreas, just blows ;)
The Cree call this phenomenon the "Dance of the Spirits.
In Europe, in the Middle Ages, the auroras were commonly believed to be a sign from God.
