For the mission's sake, our country's sake, and the sake of the men who carried the colors in past battles--who fought for life and never lost their nerve--carry out your mission and keep your honor clean.

Chemical attack, treachery, and use of the innocent as human shields can be expected, as can other unethical tactics. Take it all in stride. Be the hunter, not the hunted:

War is a bloody, killing business. You've got to spill their blood, or they will spill yours! Rip them up the belly. Shoot them in the guts. When shells are hitting all around you and you wipe the dirt off your face and realize that instead of dirt it's the blood and guts of what once was your best friend beside you, you'll know what to do!

Why, by God, we pity those poor sons-of-bitches we're going up against. By God, we do!
