The government can very put a tax on anything they please.
@sub - the reason its illegal is because it would have completely collapsed the lumber industry, and when the laws were being passed somebody (i forgot his name, but he owned something like 70% of the lumber industry at the time) had his fingers in the senate. get your facts straight bro
