Hello everyone. Polychrome here.

So, the group's like 500 big now. Which is funny cause this was just an informal group with a few of my friends, initially. Since then a few more people have joined, and throughout the previous year there's been activity going on through the group.

Anyways, matter at hand. I'd meant to do this earlier, but been busy since graduation. Now that I have, technically I'm not a student of UCSC... which means I'm not exactly qualified to admin this group now. If you've been following our events, you might notice that a certain K1nky has been managing those. Since it'd be more efficient to have our event coordinator be our admin, and this is a good a time as any, I'll be passing the job off to him. Probably meaning more events, more activities, for the coming year. (If anything my laziness was kind of a roadblock.)

This group's pretty big, but it's only as good as our community makes it. So if you want something to happen through the group, please feel free to contribute. And recruit all those new freshmen! (I just like watching the member count go higher and higher.)

I'll stop abusing my admin power now and end this ramble here. Assuming alums are still part of this group - I'll be a member, I'll be on every so often. Message me if you need me for a game?

Hello, this is your relatively inactive admin Polychrome speaking.
I've been requested to recruit participants for a graduate student's research project in the UC Santa Cruz Center for Games and Playable Media.
While I don't wish to flood your notifications with advertisements, I felt that this might be of interest to many of us in this group.

Study starting soon! Participants needed!
Willing to play a single-player Half-Life 2 mod for about 45 minutes
as part of a scientific study (UCSC IRB Protocol HS1201786)? Some FPS
experience is useful but all skill levels are welcome.
Testing will generally be done in Engineering 2 (UCSC campus), but
other locations in the SF Bay area are being arranged.
To volunteer please send an email indicating your experience, general
availability (days of the week and morning/afternoon), and location.
Must be at least 18 years old!

I've personally seen a few of these levels, and I can say that they are designed very well. It should be a fun experience.

A few additional notes:
I'd like to thank K1nKy for being an active event coordinator. It seems like the group is getting some good use, which is great to see. I don't actually do anything in this regard, so if you have ideas and suggestions for events, please relay them to him.
If there are any administrative requests, such as a notification request or setting up a dedicated server, please let me know. I can't promise results but at the very least I may be able to redirect you to someone who can help you better.
