The Group Thing

It’s Summer warm long days and pleasant nights. Gamers everywhere are venturing to the huge room outside their houses, the one with the blue ceiling that sometimes goes dark.

The Group Thing is preparing for when the evenings grow closer, it’s not as far away as you think and with it come several exciting new games.
We will be hosting servers for the long awaited Wolfenstein, Operation Flashpoint 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and the much hyped Modern Warfare 2.

Our leagues are ready to launch, and we in the process of arranging major sponsorship for media coverage, network syndication and impressive prizes for the winners.

We are growing as a community, with the new addition of clan =BAD= to the TGT fold as well as many independent players joining.
To cater for the leagues and growing community we have been donated an 8 core Xeon 2.6 GHz beast of a server, which will be hosted and sponsored by Alpha Networks, watch this space for details.

Every 3 months we go on our quarterly drive to gather funds, while we are sponsored for our server bandwidth and hosting, and for our website, all hardware, software and other expenses come out of money donated from our members.

This money future proofs The Group Thing, as well as providing resources to continually improve, renovate and update the site and servers.
Where server software requires purchasing, this fund pays for that software or any other miscellaneous expenses.
