Equip any item on any class

Would it be possible to make it so we can equip any item on any class? Not as in rigging them properly for each class, but just to have the option to see if they would work?
There are some class-restricted items that work fine on other classes and I'd like to be able to make theoretical loadouts with that option. For example, I know the sombrero for the Demo works fine on the Pyro (and maybe some other classes) and the Noh Mercy for Spy works nearly well with Scout.
Plus, I'm sure everyone would like to see a level three chin on all classes. haha
So yeah, just wondering.
