@GeneralTao: not at all, the CHeating AIs are very powerfull (2x ressources, 1/2 build time, omni on full map), and normal AIs are stupid.
@Thorameau: 2 ways, a bad and a good one.
The bad one: start FA on steam, choose multiplayer, join a game if you see one, or create one, and wait 2hr to see nobody is coming.
The good one: install Forged Alliance Forever (http://www.faforever.com/), a 3rd-party lobby for FA, way more active.
@Ambiguous: Yes. Not with your version (which is likely v3599, without multiplayer as GPGNet is down) + his on Steam (which is a custom 3603), but you have 2 ways:
-You should be able to get FA on Steam, by entering your CDkey, and play with him on Steam, or
-Play with him on Forged Alliance Forever, a 3rd party lobby you'll find here :

If i brought the game from somewhere else and my friend brought the game on steam, can we still play online vs eachother?
i'n new to steam, can anyone tell me how to play online?
im just wondering if I was a uber noob for not being able to beat an adaptive cheating AI when I was accompanied by two non-cheating adaptive AI....
