Yes. It installs both 340 and 346 drivers, and picks which one to use during boot.
Is this even theoritcally possible due to all the customised packages in steamos?
Do we simply need to wait on Valve providing newer packages for steamos?
Have you tried 349 drivers with steamos?
I try to keep my changes to a minimum. Rebasing an entire distribution is major work, and I don't intend to do it myself.
I haven't used 349 in SteamOS. It's a small job to provide it as an update, but presumably there's a reason Valve haven't done so.
