Oh, that is great. More supported hardware.
Great work, thank you :)
Might as well rename it NvidiaOS soon...

Tell me please, why you do not update AMD drivers ?
AMD graphics card work well or not ?

There are no AMD Vulkan drivers for Linux.

Ah, ok.. While it is unknown when AMD will give birth to these drivers ?
Valve does not cooperate with AMD ?

What a shallow statement. Everyone knows the reason for this, and those that don't, can easily find out why. AMD has no one to blame but themselves. But I give them credit for pushing forward lately. You could apply that same backwards logic to many other distros.

That is not Valve's fault or responsibility. I can wager a guess they have and are willing to help. Give AMD some time with their new initiative.

AMDGPU - 'nuff said.

Not sure which kernel is going to do the trick however, or for my long-forgotten GCN 1.0 card. :-(

Awesome! Things working well on my SteamOS machine.

My AMD card works fine. There are a couple of games here and there that don't work. I made a list, you can see it here

Regardless of Vulkan, it's still possible for SteamOS to have a more updated AMD GPU driver, SteamOS still isn't using Crimson

No, it really isn't. I've been mentioning drivers in the last few update threads and haven't gotten a single response

How's that high horse of yours then?, how about Intel support, no working VA-API decoding for months, no Intel Vulkan driver when one launched at the same time, Mesa stuck at 10.6.3...

Shall I go on?

AMD releases most of its drivers, including Crimson, as beta drivers. SteamOS usually only ships non-beta drivers. Nvidia's Vulkan drivers are an exception to this rule.

This is beta?

Where is the stable Linux driver then?
I don't think AMD drivers are a priority for Valve/SteamOS and can't fault them for that.
Their Steam Machines are Nvidia based and that's what they are targeting for now.
Is really up to AMD to improve their drivers to a point where they're worth considering for a Steam Machine.

As for the latest AMD driver, is not worth upgrading to it. While it did improve the performance with some games (at least from what I've heard since I've never seen that personally), most of the time is a step down in perf and stability.
