Linux client is not under development, according to Valve's Marketing VP
In an interview with gamesindustry.biz, Doug Lombardi, the VP of Marketing at Valve, states that the Linux Steam client that numerous people are waiting for is NOT under development.
At the very end of the interview, page 2 :
"Q : Final question, and one I'm sure you're not super-keen to answer, but I promised one of our tech guys I'd ask it. What truth is there to rumours that you're also working on a Linux version of Steam?
Doug Lombardi: There's no Linux version that we're working on right now. ..."

This sucks - and it was more a waste of time to code a client for mac, than it would have been to code a client for linux! The study around "World Of Goo" clearly pointed out, that Linux users pay far more money for their games, than windows and mac users do. Besides, Linux users are mainly programmers themselves and know, what software is worth. So I doubt, piracy will be as high as it is under the windows users. AND THIS IS ALWAYS WORTH THE NATIVE CLIENT.....start thinking. There is a huge community waiting and willing to pay a fair price for all this!
Yeah, fuck you valve... You could release a linux client at the time of the mac one, it's pretty much the same...
