Welcome to sleeti, your new favorite file sharing project.
sleeti started out as a pet project of Bytewave's during summer 2016, when he wanted to teach himself MVC and modern PHP best practices. Since then, it has grown and evolved into a fully-featured, free and open source file sharing application comparable to the website https://eeti.me.
sleeti is free software, as it is open-source and licensed under the MPL v2.0. If you would like to contribute to sleeti's development, see the Github link below.,
I guess this happens at least once in ever server admin's life. Silly mistakes lead to silly situations. Doing silly things leads to things breaking. To be blunt, the server the sleeti demo runs on crashed hard after a botched upgrade to Ubuntu. My best guess(shared by a few friends of mine) is that one critical component (the kernel) was upgraded while another (the initramfs) was not, which led to some unrecoverable errors that softlocked the system immediately on boot. The filesystem was also likely damaged, but for the sake of quick restoration, I didn't test. The immediate solution was to restore from a recent backup of the system, which set the system state back to yesterday at midnight PST. All data uploaded to the sleeti demo since then has been unfortunately removed, as it was not included in the automated backup. I'm sorry to anyone who lost important data, though I'm not sure that was many of you. If you did lose something important, however, please let me know, although I'm not sure there's much I can do for you.
Thank you for your understanding; hopefully this never happens again, -- Bytewave
