What we want:
1. Continue developing and patching HL2DM, like you do with Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 (but keep bunnyhopping, which is one of the gameplay's essentials).
2. Stop giving out free copies of the game for GPU's, because anticheats like VAC are useless for free-to-play multiplayer, as time has shown.
3. Create an official community group of this game.

HL2DM was suddenly abandoned (again) by developers in 2007 and had been stubbornly ignored since that time until 10.10 update which ported the game to Orange Box engine and made bunnyhopping less smooth, speedcrawling imposible, and brought new bugs with fixing very few old ones. The game still has a community (yes, it does! Look at Steam stats and HL2DMU). They are frustrated by low game quality and cheating pandemia though. Everybody here hates such state of things and the way Valve treats those of their customers, who don't belong to 95% of any kind.

To the members: don't be lazy and invite your playmates to the group, feel free to chat here. But please, no spamming like "it's useless... we've tried already". You do still play this game, right? -Right.

We had some chances to get an update when game was popular , but now its gone free and out of top played games , We can only pray to our gods for Valve to make an Update :P
I'd suggest to any1 to make complete list of things that must be chaged\added\removed to make the game suitable for hardcore and not-hardcore players . If you wanna ask Valve for an update - you are doing in wrong :p

Well , if they would remove bhop at all , this would mean Valve care about the game a bit , But , to be honest, their goal was only - changing the game Engine to OrangeBox , so modmakers can make multiplayer mods with OB engine,.Since ,as i know -hl2dm used as base for multiplayer mods ,Thats all .
And the last time the petition thing worked - it took several months to gather thousands of members in group and another several months to let Valve know that there is the bug that needs to be fixed ...........

Oh, and if Valve will really take care of DM ,iam afraid- they will remove trickjumping (as someone said - its a glitch from quake engine and valve dont particularly like it) or make it easy to perform ,, so dont expect the game will be as hardcore as it now.Valve needs money and to get moar money from game - the game should be suitable to every1 , and the only way to do this - make it simple , make it fun !
