Rest of World

It's a cold Christmas for everyone outside of the US and Canada. EA released some of their current high profile games on Steam and once again a publisher has chosen the road of regionlocking.

At the moment we are not sure whether the rest of the world will see EA's games any time soon, but some responses have been hopeful. Derek French, technical producer at Bioware, in response to seeing a worldwide release for Mass Effect stated: "I believe, although I have not seen anything official on it, is that its a temporary issue that should be resolved within a week. Again, I am vaguely aware of what the issue is but I know that all parties are working hard to get it resolved." It wouldn't be the first time someone from a developer studio has his facts wrong, but we can still hope there's truth in his words and that he didn't just misquote the wrong guy.
