We've been expecting you..
In my morning Spanish class our teacher was having some problems teaching us our colors, so she made a simple game to help us remember. It was like "Hot and Cold"; we send someone outside of the room and pick a color, then hide it and call them back in. While they're searching for our selected color, instead of saying hot and cold, we chant the color. If they're well on their way to finding it, we say the color louder, and if they're just simply not making an effort to locate it, we barely make a sound. After few rounds of this our game was moving pretty smoothly. The color we were on currently was black (negro), and our person was already searching for it. But of course, he was making a joke out of it. He had already found the color, but would motion his hand pretending to pick it up, making us scream and shout the word, then taking his hand back away from it so we would stop making such a fuss. No one really minded it, but we had gotten so caught up with his nonsense that no one had noticed that our only black student in the class had just walked in late. It took us a few moments to realize, and once we did we tried to explain, but he slowly backed out of the room. Needless to say, everyone remembered negro for the colors test.
