Operation Black Mesa is a total Source remake of Half Life: Opposing Force.

We are in no way related to or cooperating with the team behind Black Mesa Source.

This the official Operation Black Mesa Steam Community Group. Feel free to chat to developers, other fans, or just hang around and discuss the development and everything else regarding Operation Black Mesa.
Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although its not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released. Using the Source engine, the developpers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shephard of the H.E.C.U.

VALVe Software originally had plans to port Half-life: Opposing force into the source engine (announced at E3 2004) much like they did Half Life: Source, but after seeing the results of Half life: Source the Operation Black Mesa devteam decided that it wouldn't be worth the wait, and thus took the task into our own hands.

A list of features planned for the final release:
» Complete re-creation of all 12 chapters from the original.
» Models that push the limits of the Source Engine.
» Multiplayer, including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch with all the original levels fleshed out.
» New voices, sounds, and visuals to truly immerse you in the Black Mesa incident.
» Level Design tweaks to utilize the advanced physics engine introduced in Half Life 2.
» A remixed soundtrack including enhanced music from the original along with all new ones.
» Extended Single Player experience, with new areas and new monsters filling in gaps left in the original.
» Immersive scenes that make you really feel for the employees of the Facility.
» CTF may be included, But not in early releases.

Hello everyone!
It’s that time of the year again here on moddb and thanks to your votes we are again among the top 100! Now we here, on the Operation Black Mesa team need your vote again for the top 10!

To sum up our work since last time, we have arduously tried to complete all the weapon models, which was our goal for the turn of the year. I am pleased to say that we have nearly reached that goal. Only a handful of weapons remain undone, and those that are done have been animated and put in game. We have somewhat more recently shifted our focus somewhat towards creating all the characters we’ll need and finishing up various other assets that are generally used all through the game.

We hate to be a tease about it, but for now we’re not showing any of that as its still being worked on, but instead you can feast your eyes on some screenshots of our mod development that we’ll be posting up until Christmas. Also if we make the top five, (and if we manage to get it all in there) there might come around some eyecandy that is a bit more tangible.
