Hello everyone,

Marketplace.tf cross listings are now live. Before you may have noticed some users had a box with their listings on their backpack.tf profile. We fetched the user's Marketplace.tf inventory and showed part of it on the site. Now, using that same base, it's possible to create fully-fledged Classifieds listings from your existing Marketplace.tf listings.

Use the settings integrations page[backpack.tf] to link your account. From there, you may access your Marketplace.tf inventory[backpack.tf] with most of the standard backpack.tf inventory functionality you'd expect. From there, you may post your items on the Classifieds for in-game currency.

Users will see the in-game currency you ask for as well as the real world (USD) value you are asked for on Marketplace.tf. You must be willing to accept Steam friend requests and trade the listed items for the pure price you specified. Users may of course always choose to buy from Marketplace.tf directly. Listings are sorted based on the pure price you specified.

We've also implemented listing alerts, which first came live a few days ago. Just like price alerts, you can subscribe to new Classifieds listings. You'll receive instant notifications for when new listings are posted or when a user changes their price. As always, this is fully integrated with Pushbullet as well as email notifications.

Two new APIs are available: the Notifications API[backpack.tf] and the Subscriptions API[backpack.tf]. These are both access token APIs, and more will soon follow. One of the improvements that will come soon are two auxiliary APIs to get your access token/api key with your login cookies and your access token with your api key and vice versa. Losing your API key will result in someone having access to your access token and therefore parts of your account.

With these two additions, we expect usage of the Classifieds search API to drop significantly. Please use the subscriptions & notifications API instead of polling the Classifieds for changes. As a result, we will be more strict when it comes to usage of the Classifieds API.

Other improvements planned include replacements for IGetPrices/IGetCurrencies/IGetSpecialItems/IGetUsers/IGetMarketPrices/IGetPriceHistory. We will phase out these legacy APIs by the end of the year. A suggestion search API is also planned.

As always, a more complete changelog:

• Added a Classifieds rule[backpack.tf] to enforce users to keep their listings up to date.

• Fixed schema changes pages not working and made them more useful.
  
• Made the paint icon stand out more if the item has a tag.
  
• Polished the dual quality pricing feature a bit.
  
• Removed some scary items from item search.
  
• Changed the Classifieds slots algorithm (see previous post)
  
• Fixed killstreak items circumventing some price search cases.
  
• Updated API documentation look.
  
• User previews now show a 'Listings' button instead of the user's trust score. This can be reverted to the previous behavior with a setting.
  
• Greatly improved site performance. A majority of the time spent since last update went into this. Next week there will be some scheduled downtime during low load periods where we improve on this further.
