Petition To Get A Media Player In the Overlay! ([Play])

..Or even just a music player.
Since June 27, 2009
How many times have you been listening to your favourite track in a heated game, rocking to dem beats, when suddenly- bam!
You need to alt-tab to adjust the volume, (or a track you don't like comes on!), and your game is disrupted or may even crash!
You can't play it separately (like on your ipod), because you want to be able to adjust the volume quickly on the fly! You can't use WMP, Winamp, or iTunes because that involves Alt-tabbing, which can get you killed!
I petition the addition of a Media (or music) player in the Steam in-game overlay, with the ability to change tracks, play, pause, and adjust volume at least.
Join if you share my pain!

Some of people are probably thinking what's the point in all this?
Well, *most* of the available media players going take up an annoying amount of memory. It doesn't render games unplayable by any means, but when the song changes or something like that... More

So you know what, fuck it. I invited all of my friends. Guys, please take the time to invite all of your friends, maybe someone will stumble upon a sudden, random 3,000 extra people and try to do something.
Ah, I remember this. Too bad we never did anything. I would love it if I could manage mp3s or something from my steam overlay.
If Xfire can have this, why not Steam? This should have come before being able to add youtube your videos to your account
Ok... What if it wasn't just a simple player? You know, sometimes music in games is important, but not really that necesary. And sometimes it's just imperative, like in the more cinematic moments or in cutscenes... An internal player could help the developers easily set that mood for the player. Having them listen to their music at most of the time and then changing in the moments of need... yep, you surely have seen it somewhere else... But anyway, that's not something that you could make with an external player...
