It's been a long time... How have you been?
We've been really busy being d- I mean, working. Exactly. Working! Naturally.
Anyway, we were working most of the time on various things.
Some being Real Life related, some to L4D2onL4D.
Remember how we promised to show you the cola event a few months back?
Well God forbid anything go smoothly with that. We had to revamp and optimize the system countless times, and fix bugs upon bugs in a neverending sea.
After that, we had problems with getting FRAPS to record, after that we had problems rendering the video properly, and after that we had problems uploading the video.
But now, unbelievable as it may sound, it's finally there.
And to make it a little bit more interesting, we acutally show the entire 2nd map, not just the event, including all changes, balances, and a little extra something:
Overall, we show how the Cola now works, as it had to be changed somewhat due some limitations, such as not being able to add new weapons, as which the Cola (just like gascans, propane tanks and oxygen tanks) qualifies.
But on the other hand, we upped the difficulty somewhat.
There are some things subject change, and you are more than welcome to provide us with input on how to balance things.
We're really proud of how the cola event worked out, it has been developed into the complex system of continuously interacting entities that it is today through a tedious and frustrating path of evolution.
We think it's going to be hard to beat this achievement, but we'll have to, because whatever system we'll have to conjure up to make the game remember the weapon spawns in Hard Rain is surely going to be even more impressive.
