Krillin's World Servers Are the Best!

In the summer of 1996, we started out running Quake III Arena servers which was used to host a LAN game party on a Windows box. In the summer of 1997 one of the regular players there asked to make the server public. After doing some research we opened up our network to the public where anyone who wanted to play was welcome. This is what started Krillin's World.

In November of 2000 we were introduced to Counter-Strike. In researching it was discovered the HL1 engine was based on Quake 1 and Quake 2 engines. In 2001 we started running Counter-Strike 1.4 then to 1.5 when eventually we were forced to go to steam for 1.6 update in July of 2004.

With our servers growing in population due to SuperHero MOD as we paved the way to these copy-cat servers out there today. We hosted and served over 150,000 unique players without problems except where Windows came into play.

With BSOD in Windows in March of 2005 we made the switch to Linux and never looked back. Krillin's World (K|W) provides 110% Error Free (rented servers cannot say that, ever). Our hosted servers run on a 100% fully dedicated linux-based rack-mount server for the public at no cost to its players. Nope! Not even Admin is for sale. Admins earn their right with loyalty to be called admins at K|W. As they are specifically trained for our environment.

Using our own equipment and knowledge obtained from real world and textbook with using non-rented fully owned servers is why K|W runs and hosts just 'Simply the Best' game servers around. This is according to its players!

Announcements USED to only be used for SteamGroups. Now it seems as if steam has HIJACKED this once useful tool for group administrators to use for their own greedy gain to ADVERTISE in order to greater fill their overseas accounts.

I am done putting my resources into steam since 2004 when we were forced to join steam for CS 1.6 update which has not been updated SINCE. We went with CS:CZ then CS:S and finally GS:GO of which I had purchased for family and friends (who turned out to be backstabbers).

KrillinsWorld[www.krillinsworld.com] servers have 1M in R&D and equipment expenses and steam craps on us the ENTIRE way. Well, we are DONE and we are moving on to better things. Let some other douche-bags worry about when and what steam will break next. We are not seeing busy servers lately we are tired of fixing steam/valve's mistakes!

They took the last thing away from us for announcements to our players. I am sick of being shit on by steam/valve. They are all talk but take different actions to stab us all in the back! It comes as no surprise as we are taking our resources ELSEWHERE as we really do not feel appreciated by steam/valve or players.

As steam started with 6 games now they 100's of thousands of them and support is over-extended and back-ass backwards (you have a problem with your client they refer you a dedicated server mailing list, or they purposely and conveniently loose ALL your 'trouble tickets' at once. YES SUPPORT IS THAT BAD AND HARDLY UNDERSTAND ENGLISH!) Running ghost servers once again is not something ANY ONE should have to tolerate.

When this new hardware fails to update to the latest Debian will will be done with steam/valve. We have some all this way to call it quits now.

Last month we debated getting Debian 11 installed on the gameserver host. Well, we even took it a few steps further. By that we mean any sites we host here due to web hosting issues are also hosted here now. But not to worry. This new hosted server has 4-1GB LAN ports on it. This means the game servers have a dedicated IP address and the web server uses another to avoid any data collisions. So as of 8/26/2021 the hosted server is now running Debian 11 (Buster) as its Operating System. We are still chugging along here. It appears we are very disappointed in what we thought we considered loyal players. Anyone who wore the K|W Fan Tag has been removed. We are looking forward to starting over from scratch. We understand we made a bad decision to shut down our servers for a year, but we must live with that decision. There is nothing better to do then to pick up where we left off. We are proud of the fact we still run the off the very installs we ran back in 2004 when we first picked up Linux (Mandrake now called Mandrivia). Here we are today in 2021 running on Debian 11 and moved our web servers off of Windows as well! We have come a very long way since 1997 with Quake III (2001 for HL1 [CS]). We hope to frag you soon (or you frag us as we are a bit rusty) and much older. As we get older, our reactions tend to slow down, and that has been more true than ever. Krillin is also in the process of changing professions, but for that you will have to ask him... But we have said enough for now.

Hello, you created this issue on github with the gungame mod for counter strike source: https://github.com/altexdim/sourcemod-plugin-gungame/issues/10 , in the post you say that you've fixed the issue, do you still have the files you've edited? If so, could you please send them to me, as I'm having the same problem
