The name the Soldier picked was one he had worn while gaming since his sophomore year in high school, while playing the coin-op game Joust. However, another player also chose the name Death, and refused to release it, changing the spelling and punctuation until the Soldier heard a clip from a movie, "How I married an axe murderer", and put on the tag [hsma], which to him signified defiance against the higher bandwidth players and the player with his name alike, saying to them
