"The screen is locked on the remote computer" appears even when rdp session is disconnected
ISSUE
The latest change to take into account rdp sessions only uses the screen lock status to determine whether an rdp session is active.

OS
Windows 7

STEPS
Initiate a remote session via rdp from the client pc to the steam pc
Disconnect session by closing the rdp window
Select LIBRARY from the main menu on the client
Select ALL GAMES
Select Stream on any game

RESULTS
"The screen is locked on the remote computer" message box is displayed and streaming is subsequently denied.

EXPECTED
The game should stream as normal if the rdp session is not active/connected

More info:-
I have tried the destination console trick, but I have read in the other screen lock thread that this then sometimes gives an input issue on the pc in question (keyboard and mouse no longer work).

Fundamentally though, I don't think it matters if this fix works or not as I do not understand the reason the streaming client cannot distinguish between a connected and disconnected rdp session. Before this update, if I disconnected then streaming worked again yet now if I disconnect I am "screen locked". I completely understand that there would be an issue streaming if an rdp session was connected, but I don't see why it should be stopped if an rdp session if disconnected (especially with the fact it worked before the update).

I have found rdp very useful during testing streaming (aside from the fact I use it constantly for other reasons) when I encounter a game that needs input or further installation when starting (I have a library full of unplayed games as a result of the demon sales!).

So my thoughts are that I should be able to connect and disconnect at will from the remote steam PC via rdp and not have a disconnected session affect the streaming client.

I agree, rdp has been essential in the testing of this. While I understand the need to conserve as much bandwidth as possible it makes little sense to lock it out completely even after sessions are disconnected.
Im not quite getting this...

Ive got RDP server setup as the streaming server also, it has a console session that remains unaffacted with additional RDP connections.

I wasn't aware that you could setup steam under a second, non console, user and then stream the content to another machine. I believed it just sends the render over the network. If that was the case couldn't they do a 'console' only streaming system where there isnt anything on the host pc for steam to stream?!

I do make things confusing so here goes. Can you start the streaming session through remote desktop where the user isnt logged on as console and where you able to successfuly do this before the update?
