Where Games Are Everything but Small

Game Podunk (GP) was founded on a mission to inform and endorse positive views on the culture of video games and its gamers today. GP is operated by a dozen of industry veterans and is essentially an avid gaming community built by a class of gamers that are of both genders, diverse age groups, and of all professions.

At Game Podunk, we want to be the place for gamers to build a positive social identity. For decades, video games have been targeted and blamed for society’s misconduct and immorality, while gamers are associated with delinquent stereotypes. Politicians, the media, and even some gaming sites today have reinforced and broadcasted this model of negligence to quickly draw attention from the shocked and often ignorant masses.

It’s time to say enough to generalization from people who don’t understand or know what video games, gaming as a culture, and gamers are all about. It’s also time to hold each of us (gamers) accountable so that we don’t directly or indirectly feed the very stereotypes that are against us. Game Podunk believes all gamers play a pivotal role in shaping the industry and changing the views on video games by what we say, buy, and how we act. Hence, our mission is to channel a new (positive) perspective and to contribute our community’s standard of what gaming and the experience of playing them means to us, the gamers.

This month one active forum contributor as voted on by the Game Podunk Moderators will win Dead or Alive 5 on the console of their choice along with a number of other random prizes!

Please note that the Game Podunk Moderators will be choosing a winner based on the quality of threads and comments they have posted over the past month. As usual, winners are contacted through PM and will have 2 business days to respond or another winner will be selected. The featured game(s) of the month cannot be changed. The winner must select from the list presented by Game Podunk.

Remember that the idea behind the Prize Vault is to offer our members an incentive for contributing great forum posts and to improve the overall quality of our discussions. Hence, spamming is strictly forbidden and won't be tolerated. Members who are suspected of or seen leaving massive low quality posts will be warned and possibly banned.

Writing a blog on Game Podunk. Don't have one yet? Then create one here (option is only available to members). Blog must be video game related and 500 words minimum (use Word Counter to check your word count) in order to qualify. If your blog is good enough, we'll feature it and you'll get 3 extra entries, and if it's really good, we'll edit it for formatting and grammar/spellcheck purposes (as needed) and promote it to a front page article and you'll gain another four entries for a total of 12 altogether. If for whatever reason any of those winners do not respond within 2 business days to the PM notification, a new winner will be drawn in their place. Please allow up to 30 business days for the prize to ship. Game Podunk is not responsible for lost or stolen prizes in the mail and the winner is responsible for filing their personal taxes.
