This is probably the best idling/halo-related group atm

{Xeno} I Don't Heal Halos[4.5] - I was the one who banned you, I didn't ban you for your name, I banned you because you were causing a disruption on the server with your arguments in chat and your active refusal to heal people with halos. If you want to go stir people up thats your choice, but its also my choice to remove disruptions from the newbs servers. I've wrote several blog posts about how I didn't think it was 4.5% and I've given people the ability to rant about it if they want to out of game, but the moment you bring that into a game on one of my servers I will treat it as griefing. I'd do the same thing if you were giving people a hard time for being a wall sniper or playing pyro. Your beef is with valve, take it up with them the players who got the halo didn't ask for it, and they didn't even lobby against idlers (at least not anything large scale) so I see the whole 'dont heal people with halos' thing like kicking a puppy in the face because your city outlawed cats.

and just for the record, if you were actually refusing to heal people just because they had halos, I'd have temp banned you. I'd temp ban people who were giving others shit for not having them/using the idler too. Not everyone who uses it is out to attack idlers.

For a lot of people it's their only hat, so they use it. If someone talks shit to you about the idler/not having a halo or whatever, then hey, don't heal them, but going out of your way to be disruptive is no better than the jackasses who hassle people for idling.

So like I said, go protest the ban, if you actually got banned just for your name and not for behavior, odds are good it will be lifted so long as you can behave yourself when protesting.

1. Newbs doesn't run this group. I do. I am an admin at newbs, but this group is in no way sponsored by, or related to the Newbs community, it was my choice to create it because I thought it was funny and thought something positive coming out of the whole mess would be nice.

2. This isn't an "anti-halo" group. It's an idler pride group =) Hating on people for no better reason than they didn't use the idler, is just as stupid as Valve's decision to label those of us who did as "cheaters". Neither choice has an impact on the game or other players and in a perfect world people would just leave each other the hell alone.

Be polite, explain the situation and odds are you will get unbanned. Go in screaming and yelling about hypocrisy and still clinging to your guns about not healing people because they don't have an item, and your chances aren't very good.
