eClub's AsianCyberGames (ACG) is designed to foster the creating and growth of a learning community dedicated to educational computing skills for participants at all levels of expertise.

The objectives is towards enhancing broadband penetration / usage under the respective country’s Broadband Plan. We reckoned with this, more ‘mind sport’ talents could also be identified to represent their country in future competitions, amongst them are Electronic Sports Would Cup, The Cyberathlete Professional League and the World Cyber Games.

UPDATE: DOTA 2 SEA SERVERS MAINTENANCE :

The Starhub connection is in place. This should address most of the issues to the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and some of Vietnam and Taiwan with regards to latency. As for lag/freezing, this is likely to be a different problem altogether.

Valve have gone through the past couple of weeks worth of reports, and all of the traces are now within 150ms, with the exception of a couple in Vietnam. The paths to some of the Middle East are still questionable, but people on Etisalat should get pretty good latency since they peer locally in Singapore with Starhub.

India is mostly ok with the exception of MTNL and BSNL. Both of these networks have issues with the way they advertise their routes. I will continue to work on improving these when I can.

The path from Telstra should be improved as well. This should come straight to Singapore via Perth rather than via Hong Kong.

Valve are expecting a couple more links to come online in the next few weeks, but Valve don't expect them to improve things a whole lot. There is a lot of fine tuning still to be done. But this will have to wait.

The goal was to improve the network by adding more providers.
But this wasn't going to be possible in the datacenter Valve was hosted in.
So Valve had to move datacenters to achieve that goal. However, we weren't able to move the original connection across when we moved datacenters.
We had underestimated the level of connectivity we had from the remaining 4 providers Valve were using.
We still have more providers that are coming online, but they aren't coming online fast enough to keep everyone happy.
We are definitely working on the problem, but it isn't something that can be solved just like that.
Good news is the new network provider is working on improving the routing.
Some of this is caused by the upstream providers, and some by the routing policies of the ISP's themselves.
And also StarHub will be adding to this which should restore the path you had before.
This is ongoing work, and it will take some time.
