The semi-sort of-not really-not quite-official DF community group

We're a community based around Tarn (Toady)Adams truly epic game Dwarf Fortress. We aint a clan, just a bunch of like minding people having fun together on occasion. Anyone is free to join so long as they try out DF.


We have a donation run TF2 server. Add us to your favourites.
Go to servers > right click > add ip to favourites > add this ip > 217.163.25.175:27015 > come play!

Step 1: Acquire Freelancer. Somewhere, somehow.
Step 2: Acquire Patch 1.1 http://the-starport.net/freelancer/download/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=2639
Step 3: Acquire Global Server Workaround http://the-starport.net/freelancer/download/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=6
Step 4: Acquire Discovery mod version 4.86 http://www.moddb.com/mods/discovery-freelancer/downloads
Step 5: Install 1-4
Step 6: Make a shortcut to your DISCOVERY freelancer .exe location. Not the original Freelancer.exe
Step 7: Where it says "Target" add to the end "-skaelserver.dyndns.org:2302"
Step 8: Start game, join server, PEWPEWPEW.

@YOBA: I actually ran a mumble server as an option for awhile to see if people would like it better than Teamspeak. However the people that actually used our VOIP all the time on DFC preferred Teamspeak, so we have stuck with it. Personally I do enjoy Mumble more, but the community decided.

Can you set up a Mumble instead of Teamspeak server? Mumble features cutting-edge audio technology (CELT currently with is pretty wow as it is, with Opus in the next version!) and is free as in both freedom and price. Far better cross-platform support too. What do you think?

Forgot how ugly and cluttered the new Steam Community UI is. Makes Dwarf Fortress look like the Pantheon.

If anyone is wondering I can vouch for the Tropico series being worth picking up in the current sale. It has a few flaws but nothing all that major. One of the better "City Builders" on the market today.

hey guys i found something interesting for you ^^ if you wanna get a game but don't have money for the game try these sites to participate in free offers (surveys, videos and more...) and get free steam games or steam wallet for the points you earn there. It will take some of your time earning points but the good thing is that you also can refer the sites to others (like i do ^^) and get points for their completed offers. So if you're interested, give it a try and you'll see that its worth it :)
(...and if you don't trust that sites at the beginning, check them out using a fake-account :P)
