We were keeping kids in basements before it was cool, and it was never cool, because we are not slaves to feasibility.

This group is unofficial, barely anything to do with the boss people at all, but has strong ties to the community. If you have a problem with it, come to us. I need your help.

I’ve wanted to write this blog about the cost of gaming across the world for a while (like we're talking years). I want to find out what it’s like to be gamer where you’re from and thought it would be really nice to keep it Destructoid specific since we’re a worldly bunch.
I’ve made a short survey (10 short questions) for volunteers to fill out (it can be anonymous if you prefer). I’ll compile the info and write a blog to give people an idea of ‘how the other half lives’.

I would especially love to hear from gamers that live outside of North America and the U.K. But all participation is appreciated. I've had no one from Asia fill it out yet, for example.

The goal is to get as many countries as possible.

NOTE: I’m a malaria scientist, not a marketer. So none of this info is going to be sold to any organisations or anything dodgy like that. It’s just for a cblog. I’m pretty easy to find in real life so you can break my legs if you like.

Let's talk about the TF2 server...

Alright peeps. The past week or so with the server have been a pain in the ass, and I'm working on getting shit taken care of. But I need to mention a few things about the server, as well as Steam.

First off, Valve has rolled out the Steampipe beta, which is looking to go live for all users at the end of the month. The problem is, it seems as if some people have been rolled into the beta without being notified of it, and can't connect to the server. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do for you guys at this time. If you can't connect, and I confirm that the server's up to date, you're most likely in Steampipe.

As for the server itself, shit be cray cray. Last week updates weren't working right, and then we moved the server and the same stuff is happening. I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but I'm most likely going to do another wipe of the server and start from scratch. I'm off on Thursday, so message me and tell me to get my shit together and do it.

That said, please comment here as to what you'd like to see added/removed from the server, whether it be SourceMod plugins, maps, game modes, etc, and I'll see what I can get implemented.
