Firstly, I really, really do understand the frustration behind any DDoS'd match!
However, we've really put a lot of thought into all of our rules.
So, let me explain....
If we close any match that has any form of DDoS - all that would happen is:
From a DDoS'ers prospective:
Step 1) Bet team A Step 2) Watch game and if team A start losing, DDoS match Step 3) Get Skins back Step 4) Repeat
Step 1) Bet team A Step 2) Make sure team A win Step 3) Win skins Step 4) Repeat
So, what we've instead tried to enforce is that it's up to the players to try reschedule the match or focus on getting better protection. As CS:GO becomes more and more popular, this is really important. The answer isn't for us to "respect" the DDoS'er and try make rules around matches being DDoS'd - but to simply make rules that makes DDoS'ing irrelevant... in terms of betting/skins.
We aren't "letting the DDoS'ers win" - if we closed every match that was DDoS'd - probably 90% of games would be closed because this would PROMOTE DDoSing if we returned skins of every match was DDoS'd. And no progress would be made, what-so-ever.
Instead, we're encouraging the players to get better protection... this is the only way forward. Once players have better protection, everyone will be happy. If we accomodate to DDoS'ing, nothing changes! We understand it isn't that easy to get fail-safe protection, which is why we have the rule of: Any match can be postponed for upto ~3days!
As our rules state: If a match is DDoS'd we'll allow locking the bet for up to 80 hours (giving the players ~3days to reschedule) Or, if the players have chosen to play 4v5 (or x v x) we still keep the bet open.
We're basically trying to make rules which would create the premise of it being pointless to DDoS a match - because teams would just postpone the match and/or play it offline!
If we accomodate to DDoS'd matches, i.e close them and return skins, etc all that's doing is promoting DDoS'ing - as anyone who is losing skins on a match would just DDoS it... knowing D2L will close the match and return their skins.
I hope this is understandable.... No one seems to be thinking about our rules from every perspective - only the one that directly affects them!
In terms of matches that are unable to be rescheduled: We may not add these matches in the future.
TL:DR The solution isn't to close DDoS'd matches, it's get better protection/reschedule matches. And, we feel our rules are pretty solid/logical - please stop raging at them without thinking about them from every perspective.
