CS Pro Mod

CSP - Suggestions & Opinions collapse
There has been a much discussion regarding the many suggestions for Pro Mod and some disappointments about the features they chose to either add or not add. There are currently many complaints; Ill post the good / bad ones about Pro Mod and the general opinion expressed by the community, along with my own opinion.

Since Alex's Q&A Ive been disappointed by him, saying there will be source rag doll for when killing enemies and no real death animation. People coming from 1.6 are expecting the good old knock-back animation from when one gets shot in the head to then fall straight on their back. I personally love this because it is satisfying when you score a kill. I really don't like it when a model is running and shot in the head for them the go limp and fall in one spot.

It has also been confirmed that for the time being theyre using Sources hitboxes. However before anyone even knew about Promod, they had been complaining about the hit boxes since the getgo. If you view this video:

You should clearly the issues surrounding Sources netcode/hitboxes.

Good news however was quick to come (no pun intended) when it was confirmed there would be the good ol quick scope using the awp, with the same delay as 1.6. In my opinion of Source, it is much easier to use the awp; however up close if you try to quick scope it is simply not very effective and you will quickly find yourself dead. It is safe to assume that not all Source players were the happiest with this change because of the fact that they will simply not used to it. The main awpers in Source will have to adjust to maintain their previous dominance with the weapon. It should be noted that the same change was made in 1.6 from version 1.5, and the same adjustment had to be made by everyone.

Once I heard players would be able to duckhop in CSP, I was pretty excited. At first I thought they would not be able to implement this feature because of a problem I had overheard regarding it earlier in the year. To see duckhoping in action, view this video:

This will make spots easier to hold which in turn good and bad. Nevertheless, the same type of people crouch-run in 1.6.

<EG|chibsquad> csp recoil relates very much to 1.6
<EG|chibsquad> that is our goal and i believe we have achieved it
<EG|chibsquad> our gun behavior is really, really close to 1.6
<EG|chibsquad> if not identical

Although I would've preferred 1.5 recoil, 1.6 is good enough compared to Source. Almost all of the 1.6ers say, "Source is random" which can be generally be proven to be true.
Alex has also mentioned the gun models will be Sources, along with the sounds and player models because it would violate the TOS due to you only needing CS:S to play CSP. CSP wouldn't be picked up by the media + DTV is there was any trace of stolen material. This was a disappointment to me because when I first heard about CSP I was really excited to hear that they would using the 1.6 grenades and gun models.

Alex also stated that there will be an extended score board with plants, defuses, and bomb detonations points separated. Personally I feel this is needed for competitive play and with gamesense there needs to be a separation between frags and bomb defuse/detonations points.

The development of CSP has appears to have been going very well so far and Im sure were all looking forward for it to come out soon. The CSP team has been working very hard on the maps, coding, and 1.6 features they've been adding.
