- A black operation, or black ops is a covert operation involving activities that are extremely clandestine and often beyond military standard protocol. Black Ops missions are carried out in unconventional warfare and actions like assassinations, espionage, sabotages, and supporting of resistance movements.

- Agents who specialize or involved in a black operation are typically referred to as a “Black Operator”.
