BrainBread is supposed to recreate a zombie outbreak. The players work as a team to combat AI controlled zombies and complete various mission goals. When a human player takes enough damage, he will start to turn into a zombie himself. The player has short time to prevent zombification by being killed. Once a zombie, the player must either kill one human controlled player or two AI controlled soldiers to be able to return back to human form. However, returning to human form is optional and some players enjoy the different playstyle (zombie humans are fast with strong melee attacks). Brain Bread also incorporates a RPG-like system. As players kill more zombies and complete missions, they gain experience points which allow them to gain levels. Each time a player "levels up", they are given points that allow them to increase several character traits. Health, which increases maximum health by 8 per point. Speed, which increases how fast the player moves by 5% per point and finally: Skill, which allows the use of different and more powerful weapons plus it decreases the recovery time (crosshair-based muzzle climb) for all weapons. High levels of skill allow the use of certain special items such as the flamethrower, mini-gun and the powerful gas tank.

Current Progress

We are currently on the build 2013-05-09 . We have posted some images on the Facebook page about the Winchester and on its current state (almost done now, when i first posted it). It still require a good texture, since I'm not a texture artist as you can see. We are also working on our HUGE list of weapons that will be in the final game.

We are also making BrainBread: Source into a "indie" scale instead of "mod" scale. We are doing it on indie scale to make the mod great as possible and also making it standalone. By standalone we mean that we will no longer use any HL2 material or from any source game. But there will be assets from HL2 on the closed beta due we are still working on our own assets to replace them.

Hiring Team Members + Donation Information

By donating to the mod, you will help us to get the proper equipment we need to actually make the mod (It will still be made, but the content will take longer to make). For now we only need the "BlueYeti", for the Voice Actors. You will also get stuff by donating. We will change the donations (what you get), and no, we won't remove anything, we are just adding new cool features that you will probably like/love (Note: we will change it when we go near closed beta if you are wondering).
