The Australian Counter-Strike Soccer League - Introducing, Season 7!
Over the past three weeks the league has watched 7 teams give it all they can in hopes to achieve a spot in our glorious league’s seventh season – one boasting to be one of the biggest and best yet with the inclusion of a 9th team spot and a well spanned array of skill that can be produced by all teams. The signings have been made, the games have been won; and now we all look forward to the season upon us in great anticipation.
Of the 7 teams that competed in the relegations series, only 5 teams would be given the chance to play in the newly formatted 18 week competition. Interestingly, the only team that is returning from last season is the new look Hellspawns team who claim to be the most cohesive side yet and will be wanting to regain their former glory days back from the league’s infant seasons. Next is Quite Quality’s youth syndicate Questionable Quality, captained the third sportswoman to grace this league, also with high aspirations with her team that has been together for some time now. Velocity’s skipper, Deejay, silenced critics when he and his team pulled off a comfortable win against Devastation to earn a spot in the league; and as the season progresses I’m sure he’ll be wanting to do a lot more of such performances.
To join the aforementioned teams, through the struggle of fielding 5 players in two of their games in the relegation competition, Infamous has still managed to slide into Season 7 and will be wanting to make it a rather successful maiden season as a team. Lastly, the combination of league greats Rich and Enki along with the likes of more amateur players form our last team to play in the league, In Progress.
In addition to the five previously outlined teams, of course the non-recently promoted teams; Impervious, Quite Quality, All Stars and Toxic, will also be joining the fray that is Season 7 of our beloved ACSSL.
It’s been all preparation up until this point. All the training regimes and team building exercises will hopefully pay off as the brand new season kicks off this weekend when All Stars take on league debutants Velocity at 8pm this Friday night. As always, the commentary team will be there to cast the occasion, so jump to the TV and watch as the new season unfolds to what will be a spectacular 18 weeks!
