Left 4 Dead 2 In-Game Settings
1. Aspect Ratio
The width / height ratio of your display. Example : 800 : 600 = 4 : 3 <- Aspect Ratio
Adjust how many pixels in width and height.
3. Display Mode
Fullscreen display optimizes performance. Windowed displays allows switching between, for example, MSN and Left 4 Dead 2 much faster.
4. Film Grain Amount
Increase or reduce film grain effect on your display.
5. Use Recommended Settings (Not recommended if you're playing for performance and have powerful PC)
Revert all video settings to what is recommended for your hardware.
Advanced Settings (Show settings below. For Experience users)
6. Anti-Aliasing Mode
Smooth rough edges on objects but hurts performance a lot and mouse input will be slightly delayed.
7. Filtering Mode
It increases sharpness of textures and decrease performance quite a bit.
8. Wait For Vertical Sync.
Remove tearing ingame but caps framerate and also delays mouse input.
9. Multicore Rendering
Increases performance very much but also depends on the CPU and GPU. (Personally, I feel something off ingame when this is enabled)
10. Shader Detail
Adjust graphic levels based on graphics card performance.
11. Effect Detail
Adjust effect levels based on CPU performance.
12. Model/Texture Detail
Adjust the detail of models and textures in the game.
13. Paged Pool Memory Available
Configure your driver to allocate less or more memory.
Low for people with RAM < 512 MB
Medium for people with RAM < 1024 MB
High for people with RAM >= 1024 MB
