Hello VOFers, how are we this fine winters day? All well, I hope. This post is primarily intended for those of you who now own Borderlands, and may have experienced some difficulty in getting the bloody thing to play (at least, I had trouble, and 4 hours later it was fixed).

So, to save you the hassle I went through, here's some short fixes. If you preloaded the game, you may find it's not starting. to rectify this, you need to either:

1-delete local content and re-download it, or:

2- close steam, find your Steam folder on your PC and delete (but NOT permanently) a file called "borderlands public content.ncf". Now, restart steam, you'll see it says borderlands isnt installed. Restart the installation/download, then pause it. Close Steam again, and restore the file that you deleted from your recycle bin (it will ask you if you want to replace the one there, say yes)

It should now correctly decrypt and patch the game, allowing you to play.
