VIP gaming features with a points earning system

Our servers have simillar features to the others out there but with a few key differences.

You earn vip points as you play and if you're a TF2 addict and spend enough time on one of my servers then you can earn enough points to have vip pretty much all the time. In other words I try and reward you for being loyal. You can also earn points by logging into the website everyday, uploading an avatar or refering a friend.

It's gauged to take about 5 hours of gameplay to earn 50 vip points which is enough for a 1 day slot, although that will vary from person to person.

Other than that you can buy top up points on the website and I'll plow any money into getting more servers and expanding into other games, my code should work on most source based games.

Anyway, the gameplay is designed to be pretty intense so you probably need to wear your best hats.

My first post in forever.

Q: Is ThisLD dead?
A: Very much not, I just don't have the spare time that I used to have, so I concentrate on keeping everything running and up to date. Making posts comes a poor second, my apologies for that.

I still find time to play a lot though, which might make me a hypocrite but writing post is a bit dull for me (sorry to whoever reads this)

Q: But Dustbowl is empty!
A: Honestly: moving hosting and changing IP addresses hit us hard and we lost about 80% of out traffic and there were times when I debated calling it quits....but my love of running these servers and of course playing TF2 kept me going.

Q: So what's new
A: Well, MvM is new and a helper and new admin Nightmare Tank has made some awesome custom missions for us to play, they're proving pretty popular. In fact we now have a plugin that allows us up to 10 player MvM which I currently set at 8 because 10 seems to be a little laggy but all the slots seem to be full quite a lot of the time.

MvM has been so popular that our usage levels are approaching their old levels, just spread across our 5 MvM servers, with Dustbowl being the one remaining normal map we have now.

Another suggestion that I received recently is to retire my vipcore plugin. This was written by me way back and provides a lot of VIP functionality, not everything but a lot. So the experiment is underway and I've removed it temporarily from the MvM servers to see what its like.

The theory is that I provide so much cash in the missions that the upgrades it provides make it largely unnecessary....they may be right.
