The Flying Dutchmen, according to folklore, is a bunch of ghost fighters that can never go home, and they are doomed to roam the HL2DM servers forever. The Flying Dutchmen are usually spotted from afar, sometimes seen to be glowing with ghostly light. It is said that if they are hailed by other players, they will often try to send messages to land or to people long since dead. In online gaming lore, the sight of these fighters is reckoned by online gamers to be a portent of doom.
