After the Federation massacre at wolf 359, The Council commissioned a salvage operation of the Sector, With around 40 Vessels involved in the Battle, All of which were Lost: This was no amiable task.
One of the Ships on the Salvage operation, The USS Discovery, Stumbled across what they thought was the remains of a Nebula class vessel. Upon scanning the Ship they found that the Warp Core was still fully operational although everything else shields, propulsion Etc, were destroyed. The anomaly of this find resulted in a search of the derilict vessel. Every member of the crew was missing except for one who had died as a result of the in-operable Life Support system, they found the body of the captain slumped over the engineering terminal before the Warp Core. After Exploring the most recent Systems logs for the Ship and finding that a large number of Escape pods had been launched, they reasond that the captains last act was to avert the containment breach and allow all 236 members of his crew to survive through the escape pods. Tracking the trajectory of these Pods the Discovery proceeded to the 5th planet of the next system and upon hailing the planet found all 236 surving members of the crew. This event shone like a beacon of Hope to the militarily broken Federation.
That Ship was the USS: Phoenix
To Prevent another Enemy Incursion into this Sector, Star Fleet commissioned an new Fleet to Serve as a protector of the Federation, a Light in the darkness of dispair, And like the fabled bird of Legend; Rise anew from the Ashes.
Named after the Survivor of Wolf 359 this Fleet was and still is to this day,

Nope, didn't know that, although I don't use vent myself (never needed to). I thought vent would only really be used while playing the game? The IRC chatroom is for any time really.
