The Older Gamers - Your mature gaming community

The Older Gamers are members of a community for people that still enjoy playing computer games, but are in a bit of an older age bracket than the 'stereotypical' gamer. TOG is for gamers who (regretfully) can't go out boozing every weekend, because we have partners, and are left at our PC's playing games after a quiet dinner or putting the kids to bed. TOG is for busy workers who need to de-stress from their busy jobs by shooting a few players each night. TOG is also for people who have retired and find themselves with plenty of time to indulge a hobby of online gaming.

TOG is for gamers whose memories might go back to playing Pacman on an Atari 2600; gamers who had as much fun playing Pitfall on the C-64 as they do playing the latest games today - although the nostalgia junkies might still be running a C-64 a simulator somewhere on their PC. A lot of us who started their gaming addiction on those machines are still around going strong on all the latest games.

TOG is for gamers who are passionate about their hobby of PC games (particularly online multiplayer games), but who want to escape or separate themselves from the abusive, disruptive and disrespectful behaviour, usually attributed to younger players, that is so often encountered when gaming online.

We have found that it is simply a lot more enjoyable to play a game of Warcraft/Call of Duty/Battlefield 1942/PlanetSide etc., or to meet up in Star Wars Galaxies or the latest MMORPG server, with people you have something in common with. Eventually these people become a new circle of online friends, so you will be playing with and against people you know. Even offline TOG members often get together for LAN events, a night at the pub for a few beers.

This is exactly what TOG is about: a friendly, vibrant community full of PC gaming addicts from around the world, who are old enough to know how to enjoy ourselves properly!

TOG on Steam!

It's been a good year since TOG embraced the steam community and in that short time many new TOG groups have emerged. Here's a quick list of the bigger ones:

We also have a growing list of smaller groups cropping up around other games, some mods, some non-value or even non-steam games. They're great groups to join for people who want to play these lesser known games togther. Joining one of these smaller groups lets others in that group know that a fellow TOGer has that game, and thus makes it easier to organise multiplayer and co-op games on-the-fly without having to try and schedule things via the forms and stuff, so I encourage you to join any groups your're interested in. If you can't find a group for a game you want to play with other TOG members, make the group yourself and invite some friends to it. It's all very simple stuff, but it makes organising games with fellow TOGers so much easier.

Please note: Some of these groups are public, others are invite only, it's up to the group creator/admin to manage things like this. If you need an invite to a private TOG group send a steam message to the listed owner/admins or any online members, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to have more members to play with.

Just got in, use to be a squad leader in the WoT division, lost my stripes after the big move to SEA servers on the forums though. I play a bit of everything now, but mostly looking for a game that I can find some people to play with with out sinking in months of time since my schedule is changing randomly right now.

Got my paws on War of the Roses and love playing that with my cousin, but hes a bread vendor so we don't get to play too often since his bedtime is 6pm. Also keep getting pulled back into APB Reloaded, but got no friends there so I burn out fast. Other then that I like stratagy games like Total War, or buisness feeling games like Guild 2 (wierd RPG/tycoon hybrid, jack of all master of zip.)
