(continued)

Additionally, is firing twenty rings at someone only to realize that they're now halfway across the map and someone else hit YOU out of nowhere really "fun"? Sure, you have more control over your character for platforming situations, but how do you know those rings you fired are ACTUALLY going to hit, even if the guy you're aiming at appears to be running straight into them?

Also, if I was really as much of an asshole as you guys make me out to be, I'd block CS from the MS entirely -- but you don't see me doing that, now do you?

You realize I don't give a shit about the code itself, right, you two? LX certainly has done some good work, after all completely rewriting the netcode and not breaking the entire game isn't exactly an easy task.

What I do give a shit about is the community's dumbass reaction that CS is the holiest thing on the fucking planet or some shit. The completely client-side based netcode in CS does NOT work well with a fast paced and dynamic game like SRB2. Literally ANYTHING that changes the map from its initial state (Tidal Palace's water, enemies getting destroyed, etc) causes CS to become a barely playable clusterfuck as all the clients suddenly think something different is going on.

...Ouch, this conversation headed somewhere else.
I thought JTE was a developer a while ago? I guess not. Keep up the good work JTE!

"Also, the implication that buggy client side netcode that barely takes anything besides players into account is "good" is silly."

Oh yeah, because I totally enjoyed the stuttery clusterfuck of regular SRB2's netcode where any joiner, lagger, or downloader forced the game to choke on its own innards for everyone on the server. And let's not forget cfails and noticeable control lag that was always prevalent on just about any server I'd go to.

It's no wonder nobody takes this fucking place seriously anymore. A single guy does in a few years what you folks couldn't have done in the entirety of SRB2's development life, and all you can do is try to pass it off as overrated buggy garbage and wonder why nobody's paying attention to your code. To think that someone privileged enough to be a staff member and/or developer would be this asshurt over a community contribution; what a disgrace.

Inuyasha: Perhaps if you tried to respect SRB2CS given it's THREE (3) years in the making by ONE (1) individual, maybe then people would show more respect for you and your work. You can't expect to just snuff someone's creation and then ask why nobody is paying attention to yours. Treat others like you want to be treated.
