So 2017 has been off to a strange start for us. It might not seem like it from an external appearance but let me explain-
In December, while visiting family in Europe my drawing arm started to act up in a strange way. Shrugging it off as soreness or sleeping on it wrong and taking a few painkillers seemed to do the trick, but upon return to the US it worsened drastically.
What started off as a simple ache spread through the arm, and within a few weeks my arm was completely paralyzed and I was in unimaginable pain. While attempting to do treatments and going to every doctor imaginable to figure out a solution, we rushed to get a few skins out..Including the Neon Rider III and the Oni. I could feel my arm worsening and losing all motion but I managed to finish it in time somehow before the pain became well..disabling.
I've been unable to work properly since January as a result. The only way I finished Neon Rider was under heavy medication and painkillers and with the help of Andrew.
After being told there was no solution by doctors here I headed out of country for an experimental surgery/procedure in March which had some success. I've been recovering ever since and trying to work, but I can only use my arm 2-3 hours a week unfortunately at the moment as I undergo extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation.
In case things go quiet for a bit, I just want you guys to know what the situation is. We're not done working, as a matter of fact I'm dying to make new stuff-But the current situation is not in my favor and I'm working however I can.
If we weren't active in the workshop and have income from there I would probably be out of a job and on disability. It's moments like these that make us really appreciate the opportunity Valve offered us via the workshop and the support from our fans. Reading comments posted on our walls and submissions keeps me encouraged that there's light at the end of the tunnel. It might be a matter of weeks, it might be a matter of months but I'm seeing small improvement every day.
Thankfully with the help of some friends a new skin will be out this month. We'll be trying to maintain the normal schedule, but in case things go quiet I was hoping to give you guys an update as to how things have been.
Anyways, as usual thank you guys for the support. During dark times like these you guys have no idea how much it means.
That's right, a new year is here and the next chapter of the Neon Rider saga has arrived with Bad Blood! While one rider falls in a hail of gunfire, a new rider steps in to take the reigns and continue a path of bloody vengeance.
We had a ton of fun making this skin for the P90, and it actually took us a little longer to finish as we spent a lot of time creating an awesome promo video to show it off the way it deserved to be shown off. The Neon Rider is developing into an ongoing saga. How long will it last?
As usual, thank you for the support and be sure to share it with friends!
