Robots In Disguise community
R.I.P [RID]
It is my sad duty to announce that, after nearly 7 years, the Robots In Disguise community is folding.
This decision has been made due to the ever-decreasing amount of member activity and is effective immediately. Members are asked to cease using the [RID] tag in any gaming as soon as possible.
I have agreed with Frenzy that the website and Teamspeak channel will remain up until then end of May while we are still running our Left 4 Dead server (Frenzy may keep the TS server up longer than that for his own use). After then I will no longer be maintaining the forum and will also close down the RID Steam community group and X-Fire clan group. The Facebook group will remain active so that all members can use this to stay in touch.
No one regrets this more than myself. RID was my creation and I’ve seen it grow from just myself and the original Grimlock to a community which had members across the world at it’s peak. We’ve had some fantastic gaming in the likes of AVP2, BF1942, BF2, BF2142, CS:S, ET:QW, TF2, L4D and many more, and great events such as the original Matrix Tournament and the 2006 Meet-up. It’s a huge shame that things have deteriorated to the point where things are not worth continuing with but all good things must eventually end.
I’d like to thank everyone for their membership, for the fun times and making RID a respected and known community in the large world of online gaming. I especially want to thank those who performed in admin roles or contributed creatively to this community (especially Megatron for his work on the website) – couldn’t have done it without ya!
On a personal note it has been an honour to play alongside you all and I hope you will stay in touch. Maybe RID will rise again one day but for now let’s let it rest.
This is your founder rolling out…
