Rules for the Chat are as follows:

1.   If a mod asks you to stop doing something, please stop doing it.

2. Please follow the same content guidelines as the MLPLounge subreddit - be proactive in marking borderline content NSFW, and steer clear of shock, gore, and pornography. Please keep chat itself reasonably SFW. If you really feel the need to share seriously NSFW content, you may mention it in chat and offer to PM the link to interested parties.

3. Please obey the rules of reddiquitte and common courtesy with regard to your fellow bronies. This is not the place to share sensitive or personal information about your peers.

4.   Try to avoid linkspam. You can still share links, but please keep it at a reasonable frequency. An easy way to avoid being seen as spammy is to provide a brief description of each link as you share it. Use of link shorteners such as bit.ly is encouraged as it keeps the chat window neat. Please tag your links responsibly.

5.   Be mature. When in doubt, ask yourself: What would a classy pony in a top hat do?

6.   Be nice and pony-like. We are all here to have fun and enjoy each others company. Please keep personal arguments out of the main chat. Take them to PM's or ask a mod to open a private discussion chat and help you work it out.

Warning, Kicking, and Banning Policy:

Anyone breaking a chat rule, or performing other disruptive behavior not explicitly laid out above, will be issued a warning by a mod. Argument with/discussion of this warning should take place in private messages with the mod who issued it. Further infractions or excessive/unproductive argument may lead to a kicking. Kicks are intended to take a user out of the situation and give them a moment to consider it before logging back in. Repeated, excessive rule-breaking, abuse of other users, or persistent disrespect of the mods, rules or community, will result in user bans. Any user thusly banned will be informed of the reason, conditions, and length of their banning. A ban may be appealed, and shortened or lifted, solely on the discretion of a moderator. We are willing to take a deep breath and listen to reason, and urge you to do the same.

A Note Concerning Activity Outside Chat

Our mod authority doesn't extend beyond this chat but we are all active Redditors. Insulting or attacking other Plounge Steam users and especially mods on Reddit or elsewhere IS grounds for banning from this chat. The rules exist first and foremost to promote an atmosphere of kindness, respect and welcome. Users who have demonstrated that they are not prepared to uphold these ideas, even in venues outside of this immediate chatroom, will not be welcomed back.
