New Driver package available - help
I keep getting a "we recommend installing video driver package nvidia-experimental-310 for best performance" message when I connect to Steam. Thing is, I'm using bumblebee and primusrun to launch Steam. I know things can go very wrong if I install it. Will this install be aware of optimus hardware, or will it try and ignore my intel chip leading to much frustration.

JP if your implying that if you use the 310 drivers it will break your optimus/primus installation, that myth has now been debunked.
You can install the 310 drivers by "sudo apt-get install bumblebee-nvidia nvidia-310-expiremental". Then after your installation you need to go into the conf files of bumblebee and primus @ /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf and /usr/bin/primusrun and change anything and everything that says "nvidia-current" to "nvidia-310-expiremental".

No, I did all of that, except editing all instances (missed one or two) of nvidia-current in bumblebee.conf just kept getting the update driver message from Steam. I got it sorted out a few days ago, only tried TF2 so far in Ubuntu. Works better than my windows installation, which would never let me get away with playing TF2 or Killing Floor on high settings @1080 with a GT555M.
