We want LinBins4Gmod!

Useful things to host Linux GMod servers
While we still don't have real Linux server binaries, we can emulate a Windows server on Linux. There are some pitfalls though: It uses a lot more resources than if it was running natively, it's harder to install, and there are a few bugs. To those of you wanting to overcome these problems and host a server on Linux, here are some useful links.

A script to fix the bug where you can't walk on displacements:

I'm now running my RP server on Linux, and it's running great. Still not as good as if it were running natively, but the hardware is good enough that you can't notice the slowdown that Windows emulation provides. Until we get native binaries, this will have to do. Hope this helped--the more Linux servers we have running and the more we promote it, the sooner we'll have native binaries.
