WE WANT LINUX SERVERS FOR GMOD!!
Garry doesn't seem to understand the advantages of having Linux servers. Well If he doesn't understand then let's give him a little help ;)
Words of the people:
"I respect Garry for what he's done with this mod. I don't respect that he told me months ago linux binarys were coming "Soon". I don't respect that he won't give us a reason other then he doesn't want to do it.
Nobody is saying they don't respect Garry here, we are complaining because this is the only hl2 mod that won't support linux servers (As far as I know anyway).
What is the big deal?. You made binarys for GM9, there is no reason why you can't make them for GM10 Garry.
Smurfy: Your saying Garry doesn't have the time to do it, yet you clearly just stated he's made millions... so, to clarify. He can't do something that he did in GM9, when he was making no money. Rather then get millions now and provide us with linux support?. That makes no sense at all.
It's still bugged, he could shut it down but then people would really start complaining about it and it won't just be on facepunch, you would have at least half the people requesting a refund.
I'm sorry, i'm still not done. Your saying we are bitching and whining about the reliable snapshot overflow.... oh, right. That's because before his decision to move us the the EP2 engine, that really rarely happened.
I hope we get some linux binarys soon, I can live without but I would really love to use a Linux server. "
"Oh boy, not this shit again.
This is a very very old topic and people have been banned for just expressing the same concerns others are sharing here. Every point is valid and it does ultimately effect the community; but logic, insight and sense plays no part here. It basically comes down to the lack of ability or willingness to offload the task.
Garry is NOT a business man, he is an ad-hoc developer who had his day in the sun and was robbed by Valve. There is no ability to maintain and develop a sane code base to ensure integrity of the releases. Hell, we can't even get stable windows releases.
GMOD9, which was free had linux binaries. GMOD10, 10 bucks did not. That makes TOTAL sense. Glad I got my money worth.

Words of Garry:
"So just use Windows?"
"He's right. Linux binaries aren't planned."
" Linux servers, Windows servers, the customer experience doesn't change."
"... No matter how simple it is to compile linux binaries, it's another step in the development, another shit load of testing before every release."
