L4D2 Boycott
L4D2 PC Preorders Left in the Cold
On the request of Walking_Target, I'm posting this. Comments are reopened for the time being. If more stupidity crops up comments will be closed again.
The below is all from Walking_Target:
" This isn't unexpected. Valve hasn't pushed a game out inside of one year before. Just look at what happened with Crash Course too. That map/DLC came out almost a full day before the PC version was released: both versions needed patching to make them right too.
In the end though, despite the fact that this is making the PC community quite angry, it is probably a smart move on Valve's part. If there are severe bugs in the demo, it is probably better to delay it than suffer fanboy wrath over clipping issues or a bugged spawn. If they released a severely bugged demo, it would do nothing to help them - they learned that from the Crash Course incident.
One think I can say for sure, Valve will respond to this. They are pretty good guys, despite screwups like this.
So please. Stop messaging me to tell me how PO'd you are about this. I don't run things here any more and I don't own L4D2. So it is pretty hard to care. Relax, play some L4D, Stalker, Borderlands, whatever your flavor is. That's what i'm doing.
If you do want to discuss this or find out more www.thecriticalgamer.net will be covering the demo release over the next few days.

Thats his message. I just relayed it.
I'll be banning trolls for the next hour too.

@Stealth lol I'm honestly happy they released it not as a DLC. It's entirely a whole new game. At least the CStards and grievers moved on from L4D, that's a good thing about it.
tbh not buying l4d2 even when it's $22 right now, might be worth it just for the sake of $20 but it's the same game..
it might seem ok for console gamers, theyre used to paying ridiculous prices, but games companies today are forgetting their values and this is what it's about,
Valve had to actually pay to put extra dl/content on Xbox Live (not forgetting $25mil blown on ads for l4d2) and now Microsoft have an evil little monopoly there (online marketplace/branding, control over matchmaking, servers) because game companies started selling out to them..
but yea I'd consider it a little more if I wasn't being insulted so much, l4d is a great game but it didn't deserve a sequel yet, it was a unique take on a film genre so idk how Valve expects they can just copypaste the code for l4d2 but add some shaders/HDR hype and everyone thinks it's really original. But that's just me.

and Major Nighthawk there is nothing any of us can do about noobs in public games, that problem is across all games in all genres where teamwork is integral to victory... unless you trace their ips to their houses and murder them in their sleep there is really not much you can hope to do except play matchup games with your friends / trusted contacts...
still wont buy the game...sick and tired of people saying its better than the first l4d, tbh its wot the 1st should of been but no valve decided not to give us wot we want like new maps weapons and new infected which we were crying out for all over the forums.
keep this group strong.
keep this group strong.
also mw2 is just lfd2 but i did not buy the first one so i will pay full price for the 2nd too bad lfd is a big pc thing and not big on the system for dummys
all i have to say "hay steam /valve drop the price to 30 buck and i will buy yhte game right now hows that sound
Actually i only need less morons on public servers/games and i'd be fine!
Im not a kiddie who needs new stuff every month to not get bored, i need decent gameplay without 90% noobs.

Meh. I played the L4D 2 demo.. zZzzz boring as fuck. seemed like a repeat of l4d1 with some new shit that wasn't even THAT good. Plus, still only 4v4 matches and no real stuff to save/show off.. kinda getting bored of the same l4d stuff :/...... MW2, sexy true fps action, here i come baby!!!!!!!!!!
