L4D2 Boycott
Upcoming Campaigns and More Servers
Hey guys.
First off, xTcR Servers has opened up an additional two servers for us at no charge. Here's a list of all 3.
74.63.192.36:27015 L4D2 Boycott #1
74.63.192.36:27016 L4D2 Boycott #2
74.63.192.36:27017 L4D2 Boycott #3
All of which are hosted on - www.xTcRServers.net
Next up on the plate, I wanted to highlight three upcoming campaigns.
Dead Before Dawn is comming out for October 31. More info can be found right off of the main page at www.l4dmods.com
Cold Case is a campaign of truly epic proportions. The final version is supposed to have 30+ maps over a wide range of environments. Everything looks promising thus far, so let's keep an eye on this one. http://cc.l4dmapdb.com/
Finally, there's Jungle Crisis, by our very own Agent of Chaos. I won't get too much into detail on this one, as it's going to be releasing for beta soon. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/junglecrisis
Finally, I would like to take a moment to respond to the "Official" news over on www.l4dmods.com. "Extreme_One" posted an "official" notice that this boycott has failed.
Obviously someone is looking at sales figures for L4D2 and not at what is being done for L4D. We have had a release of a campaign (mediocre as it may be), HUD update and there is supposed to be another patch on the way before L4D2 drops.
More than that, we have spoken directly with Valve and had some of our concerns addressed.
Anybody who thinks that the broad-market sales of L4D2 affects what we have accomplished in this group is not looking at the facts. We never intended to see L4D2 fail, only to have L4D supported.
This isn't a grand-slam win; but talking to the devs and actually getting concerns addressed certainly isn't a failure either.
We'll have more news on upcomming material for L4D later on this week.

What're you talking about addressed concerns? L4D1 still isn't getting any type of fixes or tweaks, we're still left doing it ourselves.
hold on maybe I can articulate the "l4d2 cheerleaders" opinion better...
WAHHH WAHHHH i support l4d2 cause I take is up the ass from all corporations and the l4d group is not making me feel good about myself cause i bought l4d and now I realized that I got fed a bunch of BS but I just want to burry that reality deep in my brain where it can never come out again to aviod my true feelings of me giving more of my money to a company that already got it, waahh wahhhhh wahhhhhh
ALT+F4?

Okay but you are forgetting the fact that Walking Target and Agent are not the ONLY people who represent this group. When people come to this group, they dont only hear arguments from them, but they see arguments from whiney, immature posters who cant even pose a good argument. Thats why you get bad publicity...
@Tila: I have thought about it. I've been part of similar groups in the past and was at the helm of such groups, writing lenghty intelligent and articulate points. It still did not stop numerous people from largely dismissing the points by simply saying, "All you're doing is crying, wah wah wah," or something else that would make Aristotle roll in his grave.
That's exactly what has happened here. Agent of Chaos and Walking Target have been nothing but articulate and civil and yet they are STILL cat-called by so-called reputable news sources that resort to such debauchary to even call THEM "bitching fanboys." Show me a news source that has actually looked at this group and said, "Hm, they raise good points." Mind you these are ALL publications that wrote reviews for L4D on the FACT that they were expecting exponential amounts of DLC content to follow. It never did. What did follow? A 'sequel." And they ate it up.

I did not say that the group failed. Said that the group was not that effective becuase of X Y Z. How do you know that sending an email doesnt do anything. Im pretty sure thousands of emails were sent to valve. This group did not only become popular by word of mouth. And you are right, this group does get publicity, but MOST OF IT NEGATIVE becuase you have people in this group who bash valve instead of doing something effective like attemtpting to contact valve instead of hating on them. Noone gives attention to someone who whines for what they want...but they do give attention to a person who can articulate themselves, without flaming and making the isues about what they think should happen as opposed to what was promised to happen.
Think about it.
Think about it.
