DLC and L4D Info

The TL:DR:
Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to play the new DLC, it wasn’t available (or so I was told when I asked). I did ask Chet about bug fixes/exploit fixes for L4D; I was told that bug and exploit fixes are being worked on, just like interoperability (aka. cross play). We talked about the problems with some of the L4D weapons and things like stacking/camping. It was mentioned that there ‘should be fixes for that’ coming in the near future. The one thing we can take from all that is that they are still working on bug fixes and they will come, just probably not before L4D2 drops. I’m pretty sure Chet had also mentioned something about how some of the L4D2 fixes could be incorporated into L4D, however I’m not sure if that was in relation to a wide variety of things or problems with the Hunting Rifle / Sniper Rifle which was something we were talking about at the time.
Now for some good news: There is more DLC for Left 4 Dead coming after CrashCourse. We were given a rough idea of what it should be, however we were asked not to talk too much about it so it didn’t “influence the creative process”. I can tell you this: it’ll either be a new Special Infected, a new Campaign or new Weapon(s). It’s definitely one of the three, perhaps more. This is pretty much the only thing that we were asked not to talk about (remember, *asked* we didn’t sign anything). To that end, we’ll continue to bug Chet about this after Crash Course drops.

At this point though, enough of calling myself and Agent ‘traitors’. It doesn’t matter what course of actions we could have taken, or how ‘assertive’ we were with Valve, you folks would not be pleased. If we refused the invitation, you would say we aren’t doing our jobs. Accepting an invitation got us called ‘Traitors’. Complaining and whining is not going to get you anywhere, because nothing we could possibly do would make you happy and I’m through trying.
Please email or post questions and I will answer to the best of my ability. Please leave cursing/foul language out though; I’d like to copy/paste your questions directly without having to edit that stuff out. I’ll be answering questions on Friday.

"(...) problems with the Hunting Rifle / Sniper Rifle (...)" you lost me there.. whats the problem with the sniper? :(
2 people who haven't been exposed to this kind of thing get offered to visit a big time game studio and swap sides? Yea that happens. hell I signed up to the first game studio who would have me (even though they were rubbish). What we need are 2 new unphased spokesmen for the project.
@[H☣K] mÃxмίĻ£ïάñ : That's right. Trust the 'honest' news sources who didn't exaggerate anything and took all quotes in context with proper, unbiased analysis.
Thus far, the only news source that has actually presented news and not a biased opinion is The Escapist. All the others that I have read thus far have gone beyond speculation into sensationalism. If they don't report all the facts and only go into shallow, highly biased detail, should they be trusted?

In September of 2009, Valve flew out two of the boycott group leaders to playtest of Left 4 Dead 2, in response they said that they felt that the sequel well done - although this opinion is not shared by the majority of the members they claim to represent and has thus led to accusations that the two were bought out by Valve, accusations that have not been addressed. I think people are mainly upset cause we feel you have done nothing for promoting our cause. L4D2-- I could hardly care how good it is. It is like they totally disowned the L4D community and left us out to die. They totally treated us like their bitches, asking us all to shell out 50$ to be beta testers for them.
Honestly instead of selling us this useless drivel about how good L4D2 is, I would have rather you said straight up to valve how it is unacceptable that critical gameplay/glitches issues are not fixed in the first version of the game before the second comes out. Even if you got nothing out of it and instead they got so pissed off they canceled all possible future L4D updates, I would be happer that they realize that a lot of people aren't happy with this shit.

Insightful, satisfying summary of your endeavor. Makes me excited, and not dreading the future. Although I am still resenting l4d2 because I was working on a carnival campaign myself, starting in May. Oh well. Mixed feelings here... -Sharky
lol I saw the "new" pc gamer mag the back page was funny and yes we do take our selves waay to seirosly (spelt wrong >_<) I mean valve could get rid of this group at anytime..its on steam they have been kind enough to listen to us and from what was said here we have gotten some of what we wanted a new DLC and something else.....hoping its a new SI.....I can make new maps and if i really tried could make new weapons but not ne SI so.....im happy for now :D.
I don't see how anyone would call you tratiors for going there, there is a huge rumor going around that after you guys seen the new game that you guys now support it, that is what is going on. Wheter that is true or not is something else entirely.
Yes, that's what it is, it's the ebil media making them out that way. It totally has nothing to do with them being satisfied with more vaguaries and empty promises. It also has nothing to do with them talking about how awesome L4D2 supposedly is, real sudden-like.
Bottom line is this: Promises were made. PRomises were not kept. Valve made more vague promises about 'some stuff'' 'eventually,' and that was good enough for them. It looks to me like this was a chance to ask the hard questions, and it looks like they got tossed aside. Until I hear specifics, I'm not holding my breath that they didn't just settle for easy answers because they got a free tour and a sneak peak.
