Is this what big Gabe wanted?

As it appears, after further intense investigation I’ve finally found some very old articles and forum posts reaffirming what some people may already thought, possibly without knowing – Valve never approved the idea of Bunny Hopping.
Dating back to HL and its various mods. Bunny Hopping appears to have been a code leftover from the original Quake I built and later in Source, Valve was apparently unable to remove the feature altogether without damaging the engine and therefore it was left as is, with updates from time to time over the years to minimize its effect; Until the new revision – the Orangebox, from which Bunny Hopping was wholly removed.
I am relaying solely on the information I’ve been gathering on the net and not directly from Valve however one page in particular left no room for mistake. Gabe Newell was quoted on Jun 26th 2003 saying ” We don't particularly like bunny-hopping.” (You may read the full article here: http://hl2central.net/?id=1480)
