Player of the Week: Litto Baby

Hey everyone. As you may have noticed, Gold Miners has unfortunately become more inactive due to many of us playing the game less often. However, there are still new players that are making a fresh start with Left 4 Dead and even new records being broken.

For this week or longer I'd like to recognize a new player to survival mode. Litto is a Finnish player who has just recently gotten a great start into survival mode. In the small amount of time he's been playing in Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 he's already achieved gold on many of the survival maps and has started recording and making videos of his survival runs. From the small amount of time I've played with him, I know that he is a fast learner and he's very excited to be playing with survival players from all over the world. He's a player that puts a lot of effort into the game and he is always improving, so congratulations and help him get more gold medals and further!

Gold Miners description & more...

Hey guys, I've finally got around to updating the GM description to better suit the nature of the group as it's change somewhat from what it originally started out as, I've also condensed the description somewhat, to be shorter and more succinct.

The other thing I've changed with regards to the description is I've re-written the high honors list, to make it easier to read and ranking of honors from highest to lowest (for each game individually) and now each person is only listed in the highest honor bracket they currently reside in (it's kind of obvious they have all 20s if they have all 30s etc...) and I've removed the section for having all 20s in both games (again because of its redundancy).

I had planned to also update the group's display picture, but I didn't know what to make it, and I suck at using photoshop, so I decided to just leave it.

And with this, I've also decided to step down from being an admin of the group, simply because I no longer active, nor have any interest in the L4D series. Which brings me to another point, the group seems to have stagnated somewhat in recent months, perhaps promoting some new admins from the community that are still active would be a good idea? I'll leave that decision to the remaining admins.

I've made an additional post in the video recording guide outlining some of the recent video capture program tests that I've been conducting lately. For those interested in making videos or have older computers that may struggle a bit when using fraps or have to conserve on hard drive space I would highly recommend checking it out. If there are any other programs out there that people would like me to test also feel free to post a suggestion and I will attempt to test the program, if I can.
