Global Gamers

Global Gamers is a project that stretches around the world, but it is often too easy for us to get wrapped up in what is going on in our immediate surroundings. Recent events have increasingly turned our attention abroad, to the ongoing unrest in Africa and the Middle East as well as the tragic series of disasters in Japan.

GG has become part of daily life for many of you, and we are grateful to our users for making this community possible. Many of you have approached us in the past to ask if you can donate to help GG. In light of what is going on around the globe, we ask any of you who feel so inclined to instead donate to a much more worthy cause.

If you are interested in donating but don't have a specific cause in mind, we encourage you to research efforts that line up with your beliefs at a site like charitynavigator.org. Those of you who want to contribute specifically to relief efforts in Japan may wish to check out charitynavigator.org's tips for donating and list of charities that are currently involved. Note that this website only reviews charities that are based in the US. If you know of a similar website that tracks charities based in other countries, please let us know.
